ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Vet Press Association. Auckland, Saturday. The body of an unknown man was found in the harbor this morning. Evidently it had been in the Water only a few hours.
Christchurch, Last Night. S. It. Mcrrett, shops manager of the Christclmrch Heat Co., was seriously injured last night in a collision between a motor car and a tramcar on the Lincoln road. It appears that he summoned Dr. Diamond to attend his wife, ! who was in a critical condition, and both were proceeding to Aterctt's house in a motor car. When near Clarence road, a stray horse wandered across the Lincoln road, and the motor car, in attempting to pass round it, collided by some means or other with an electric tramcar which was proceeding in the opposite direction, The motor car was completely wrecked, three of the wheels being torn off, and the occupants were thrown on to the road. Merrett received a fractured skull and was rendered unconscious, but Dr. Diamond was oulv slightly injured. Jicrrctt hud not regained consciousness up to five o'clock this afternoon.
Wellington, Last Night. A tram conductor named lVUicriek was knocked off a tramcar at Courteuay Place yesterday. A horse and trap came along at the time, and Pethericki was struck on the head as he lay on the ground, receiving injuries which necessitated his removal to the hoepital, where he is progressing favorably.
