THE HON HALL-JONES.
■ WELCOMED TO TIMARU. Per Press Association. Timaru, Last Night, The lion. Hall-Jones, member for Timaru, and Minister for Railways, etc., paid his first visit to-day after his trip to England. He was met at. the railway station by Mayor Craigie and reprseeiitative citizens and most cordially welcomed. He was the guest of the Mayor in the afternoon, and to-night took part in a procession to the Drill Hall, which was densely crowded with people, principally women. His reception on entering was most hearty. The Mayor presided, and on the platform were the Hon. Hall-Jones and Mrs. Jones, Hon. Dr. Findlay, Hon. T. Y. Duncan, Sir \V., J. Steward, Mr F. R. Flatinan, M.P., and representative citizens, The Mayor delivered an address of welcome, and presented Mr. Hall-Jones with an address from the people of Timaru. Speeches were delivered, and a fine musical programme by the orchestra and hands was submitted!, Altogether the racejption was of a distinctly flattering nature, and, as several speakers put it, all were delighted to see Mr. Hall-Jones so fnllv restored to health.
