(jeneral Willcocks, with the fecund Brigade, reached Walou, the Zakkas' [ chief village, on Saturday evening, sur- j prising the tribesmen, who did not expect the troops until Sunday. They were prevented from garrisoning t he strongest position on a hill al>ove Wa biu which the Seaforth Highlanders seized without lois.
Snipers killed one Highlander and wounded a gunner during the march through tbe mountain pa=se-. The First Brigade, under General Anderson, captured C'liora fort and village on Saturday night. Pressmen are now permitted to join tbe expedition. General Willcock's operations arc now practically closed with the eastern part of tbe Bazar Valley, and the cutting off the Zakka s' communication with adjacent tribes.
A simultaneous movement of the two brigade* disconcerted the Zakkas. This effect will be increased if the Landikotal column joins their hands from the nortfc.
