A TERRIBLE PLOT. HOW THE DICTATOR ESCAPED. SEA'TIMENT OF THE COUNTRY. Received Feb. 10, 11.2 p.m. ixindon, February 10. The Dublin Times' Lisbon correspondent states that inquiry reveals that a raid and an arrest of a number of republicans, with a seizure of arms and bombs, were made three days before the assassinations, and prevented the execution of a plot to destroy the police stations and to lake advantage of the panic to establish a republic, and hoping to enlist the support of tlio ■ soldiers and sailors. s The failure of the plot led a snnOlsection ot the militant republicans to plan the assassination. The assassins, who numbered under a score, intended to murder Senhor Franco and all the members of the Royal family. Franco's escape was due to his walking instead of driving. Senhor Franco, who the correspondent says, was a man of conspicuous integrity, did not gauge the seriousness of the situation until the new Government lorced him out of the country. The public was then pneilied. The general sentiment was now calm and loyal. Whatever coolness there was towards the late King Carlos, the sympathy of the masses was now with King Manuel.
