REDUCING THE NUMBER OF' , HANDLINGS. MR. LLOYD-GEORGE SYMPATHETIC. Received sth, 10.45 p.m. London, February 5. Mr, Taverner, Agent-General for Victoria, interviewed Hon. Lloyd - George, President of the Board of Trade, in connection with the Port of London Bill, and urged that greater facilities for discharging perishable products, and reducing the number of handlings be provided. Tho Hon. Lloyd-George was sympathetic. He recognised the growing trade and would he glad to assist in securing up-to-date facilities and the abolition of obsolete accommodation. He fora copy of Mr. Taverner's central depot report, promising upon its receipt and; the receipt of other information to give: the matter his host attention.
