TARANAKI RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
The Taranaki Hille Association's programme for the tmrd annual meeting, to ue held on i'Jlh and 20th February next, has now been compiled. The events are as tollotts:—
No. I Match, 200 and 000 yards, sev.-n shots at eaen range.—23 priAs, ten oi which are lor tyros. Fir=t £2, second £1 lo?, i lord £t i=.
.No. 2 Match, jOO and 000 yards, seven roots at each range.—23 prizes, ten oi whH-b are lor tyros. First £2, second £ 1 10s, third £1 as.
.No. 3 (Citizens') Match, 200, iOO, and 000 yards, seven =nots at each range.--3U prizes, ol whicn mteeu are for tyros. First £3, second £2 10s, two ol £2, two of £1 10s.
No. 4 (.Long ""ange) Match, SUO aud 'JOO yards (IUOO yarns range to be added it there is sufficient time).—23 prizes, ten of which are for tyros. First £2, second Jul IBs, third £1 ss. No. 5, Government District iiatch, open to all comers resident within the provincial district of Xaranakj, 500 and 000 yards, seven shots ai each range. Match to be fired with ritle under service conditions.—Fust prize £2, second £1 10s, two at £l, and 25 other prizes. No. U, Government District iiatch, for volunteers only, resident in the province, 200 and 500 yards, disappearing targets, seven shots at each range. No sighters. Targets at 200 yards will ue head and shoulders, khaki color, exposed for three seconds, hits to count iwo points; at 500 yards, ordinary second-class targets, exposed for five seconds, ordinary marking. Itine under service conditions. —First £2, second £1 10s, third £l, and twelve other prizes. No. 1, Grand Aggregate, 1000 yards, ten shots. Open to twenty highest aggregate scorers in matches 1, 2, 3, and 4.—First £1 and gold medal, second £l, three third prizes of 10s each. No. 8, Last Try, joO yards, seven shots, open to members who have fired in at least two matches and nob won prize-money. First £l, second 15s, three thirds of 10s each.
No. 9, Teams Match, open to all aililiated corps and cluos. Aggregate in matches 1, 2, 3, and 4 to count. Prizes, sweepstake ol "entrance fee=. Foar teams or no second prize, six or no third prize, eight or no fourth prize.
CADET MATCHES. The following two matches are open tor cadet? attending any public school and certified to by their teacher; cadet rifles and ammunition to be used. Tincadet matches will be fired on SaturdC. 22nd February, at 10.30 a.m.:—
Cadets' Match, 200 yards, seven shots and one eighter; third-class targetFirst prize 7s 6d, second ss, and ten other prizes. Cadets' Field-firing Match, ten shots. Teams of eight Hoys under an officer or non-commissioned officer. Range hc-twe-n :«» yard- and lwt yards; thirdMa** target with head and* shoulders. Any cadet company may enter one or more teams.—First'prize.'Challenge Cup. to be heli) for the year by the winning j company, with other prizes which will be allocated when entries are received.
