New York, January 27. Senator Aldrich has amended his Emergency Currcuvv lii-l )■■: doubling the amount, which now stands at five hundred million dollars.
The original Bill proposed to issue 250,000,000 dollars as emergency currency, and to give power to place a tax as high as G per cent on notes issued by the national banks, to be withdrawn when the emergency ended.
