.Mr. 11. Temple White, ot Feilding, is revisiting New Plymouth. Mr. 1!. Wootlliousi', sharebroker, left for the North last night on a biwiness tour through the Auckland goldfields. He expects to be absent: about ten days. Madame Clara Butt and Mr. Kennerley Eumford were entertained at a garden party at the residence of the Premier yesterday afternoon bv the Victoria League, of which l.ady Ward is the Wellington president. There were about live hundred guests. Mr A. Wilson has resigned the position of editor of the New Zealand Times, private business making it necessary for him to visit England. It is understood that Mr Pierce 0. Frecth, late editor of the Manawatu Daily Times, will succeed Mr Wilson. A Dniiedin wire announces tiic death of Mrs Jago, relict of the former manager of the Stir: aetat 78.
