dense smoke obscures the LAND. Received 22nd, 11.52 pan. Melbourne, January 11. The Uinenvn ran ashore through dense smoke obscuring the land. It took the groußd gently. The captain is hopeful of re-floating the vessel, but local resident- who kn"w the place think it is hopeless. The weather is fine. Received 23rd, 1.3 ii.m. Melbourne, January 22. The Hinemoa has been floated off. and is being towed to Mellwirne.
