SENSATIONAL RESCUE
ENTOMBED FOR 40 DAYS. FED PER TUBE. Received 21st, 12.24 a.m. New York, January 20. Bailey, Brown, and Mac Donald, three* miners,"who were entombed in the Alpha shaft at Girowa mine, Nevada, since December 4, have been rescued. Air food had been supplied them for 46 days through a six-inch pipe. When brought to the surface the men seemed well. They laughed and joked. The whole town was extraordinarily excited.
