CONFINING THE TROUBLE. .Sydney, January 10. Tlio fears that the wharf laborers' strike at Newcastle might affect the inter-State shipping companies have been dispelled by an arrangement made between the Federated Steamship Owners and the Waterside Unions, confining the trouble to the present limits. As the outcome of the delay of the Manuka, the Premier is taking steps to prevent the congestion of trade at Newcastle standing in the way of passenger steamers obtaining bunker coal.
