IN THE COMMONWEALTH. JUDGE'SDECISION. Received Jan, J5, 10.55 p.m. London, January 15. In delivering his reasons for the decision in the income-tax cases- cabled OB 29th November, Baron Lorebum,- in a. brief speech, eaid that before these petitions could be heard the Commonwealth passed an Act expressly authorising the States to impose a tax of the kind in question, so that the controversy cannot be raised again over the sums actually in dispute or indirectly affected. "For these reasons it would not be in accord-ancewith-the practice of-this Board to advise Hii Majesty'to grant it special leave of appeal."
