ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Auckland, Tuesday. A telegram from Owhata, near Mangonui, states that A. Ballintine, who only arrived there recently, was drowned while baffliing. A boy named Crighton Riddle, aged eight, was drowned in the river at Ongaruhe.
• Taihape, Tuesday. John Harvey, aged 24, a mill-hand, of Mangaonoho, was drowned while bathing" in the Rangitikei river.
The Stratford Post reports that a man named Arthur J. Rushton, about 85 years of age, a porter employed at tha Stratford Hotel, waa found dead on the floor of his room yesterday morning." Deceased, who was subject to • epileptio fits, had had one on Monday evening, but on going to his bed, said he felt better. It is supposed that he died while m another fit, as he waa found on the floor with his clothes on. De-1 ceased, who has no relatives in the colony, was for some time in charge of the Stratford Mountain House, "
