Per Press BOATING FATLITAY. Dunedin, Last Night. A boating fatality occurred in the upper harbor to-day. A yacht with two men named Rush and Thomas Smith were sailing opposite Wavcrley about noon, when a squall struck the boat, which capsized. Both men were thrown into the water. Hush managed to make his way to the shore, but Smith went down. The body lias not yet been recovered. Deceased, who was a single man, was 25 years of ago.

Daimevirke, Saturday Night. iTliis morning a young man named Hill, while lifting a stump with a jack, sustained serious injuries. The jack slipped, and the stump fell on him and badly crushed him. He was conveyed to the hospital, where he is doing as well as possible. Westport, Saturday. John Cook, a miner, was badly crushed about the feet and legs and otherwise injured by a fall of stone and coal in the Denniston mine.

Dunedin, Last Night. _ Yesterday a station-hand named William Halloran, employed at Boyd's station, near Outram, attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat. He was brought into Dunedin Hospital, where he lies in a very low state.

Some meagre particulars have reached the Stratford Post of a serious accident that occurred to a party of eight ladies and gentlemen from Kaponga, who visited the Dawson's Falls mountain house on Thursday. 'lt appears that as the party were leaving the mountain house, the trap horse became very restive and bolted for a considerable distance down the slope, all the occupants being thrown out. The driver sustained a very severe scalp wound, and a young lady of the party was so severely cut about the face that it is feared she will be disfigured for life. The other occupants received minor injuries. 'Another trap was procured, to which the Bame hortß was attaches when it again commenced to kick up, and considerably damaged the second vehicle. The unfortunate party were finally driven to Kaponga.
