ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Per Press Association. Hastings, Last Night. A middle-aged man named Kobert Large, driver of a grocer's cart, met his death in the streets this afternoon through his horse bolting. He fell from the vehicle, and the wheel passed over his abdomen, lie died in a few minutes. Auckland, Tuesday. The body of a man about 25 years of age, live feet eight inches in height, of slight build and fair complexion, was found on the beach at St. Heller's Bay. There was some cyanide of potassium beside him. Letters were found in his pocket addressed to "Joe," and reference was made therein to a Dunedin young lady staying in Auckland. So far the body has not been identified. Later. The man found dead at St. Helier's Bay has been identified as Joseph Breeze, employed last month by Rendell, draper, ae a porter. Auckland, Tuesday. A man named Henry Thomas Lowes Griffin, of Whnngarei, formerly of Dunfdin, was taken seriously ill at R board-ing-house last evening. Doctors treated the patient for strychnine-poisoning, of which he showed symptoms. Griffin was then removed to the hospital, where 110 lies in a very critical condition. An inquest was held at Inglewood on Monday, before Mr. Joseph Pennington, Acting-Coroner, concerning the drowning of Mrs. Shaw. Mr. Shaw, n his evidence, detailed the finding of the body, and spoke of his wife's weak state of health. Dr. Nutting's evidence was to the effect that death was due to drowning. The verdict was that deceased met her death by drowning, but there was not sufficient evidence produced to show how the event occurred. The jury was of opinion that no blame was attachable to anyone.
