Mr D. Berry, whose condition bin been a cause for some anxiety to his friends, is now progressing very Satisfactorily towards recovery. Miss Bourke, teacher at the Denbigh rnnl school, having been appointed an assistant teacher in the Hawera school, has resigned her present position. Mr Frank E. Wilson, formerly of Messrs Roy and Wilson, has commenced practice on his own account in the offices in Brougham street recently vacated by the A.M.P. Society. At a complimentary benefit accorded Mr Alfred Hill in Diinedin—an extra . performance of "A Moorish Maid" —the < sum of £IOO was realised. Mr Hill was also presented with a gold-mounted bation by the choroi and principals. It is ! Mr Hill's intention to settle in Welj iington shortly, and he Intends to estal'I lish an orchestra in Wellington, to bo j called the "Alfred TTill Orchestra."
