SUNDAY OBSERVANCE.

Per Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Auckland Presbytery to-night retiu ned to the subject of Sunday observance, and some wholesale condemnations of common practices were made. The committee set up to consider the matter ■submitted a report, in which it was claimed that the principles of the church were flagrantly yjolatet} by the occurrence on Sunday of fishing and pleasure excursions, cycle runs, and by Sunday travelling by boat, train, tram, or 'bus. It was contended that scores of men were Wing lost to Christianity by the utter neglect of Sunday worship on account of the first-named pastime; that the use of all boats in the ferry service on Sunday ought to be discontinued by Christians; and that" they should not j travid by the trains on "Sunday. The committee also expressed a desire to see an end put to unnecessary work in mines, factories, and mills on Sunday, and had a word to say about Sunda'v Hardening and domestic work on the s\me day.
