PERSONAL.
Mr It. \V. Holmes, Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, who bus been on a visit to Taranaki, returns to Wellington to-day. Mr W. T. Hookham leaves this morning on a visit to Wellington. Mr Findlay, of Hamilton, takes up his duties to-day at the local {rate's Court, filling the vacancy e.ir.sed recently by the transfer of Mr Phillips. The ISev. Mr. Latter relinquishes I charge of the Fitzroy portion of St. -Mary's parish at the end of the present mouth. He will he succeeded by the ltcv. M. Spencer, at present engaged in iiiistiiini work along the Main Trunk line. Mr. Leslie Hill, the well-known tenor vocalist, of Wellington, is at present visiting his people in New Plymouth. He proceeds North by Tuesday's boat on a klioi! holiday. Lord Plunket left for Eotorua yesterday on a ten days' fishing excursion in the thermal springs district. Lady Plunket and the Hon. Kathleen Plunket join the party on Thursday next.
