Southland Handicap, one mile and a distance.—Jack Ashore 1, Sam Weller 2, Notus 3. Also ran: Black Fffar, aud Luresomc. Won by two lengths. Time, 2min 9sec.
Gladstone Handicap, six furlongs.—, Curiosettia and Hypnotist, dead hcut, 1, Office Boy 3. Also ran: Warsaw. Time lmin 20aec. , ; Shorts Handicap, four furlongs.— Disappointment 1, Zetland 2, Eous 3. Also ran: Curiosity and Rio Grande. Won by three lengths. Time, 51Sec.
Mile Trot—MeArtney 1, Sterling King 2, Lady .Vancleve 3. Also ran: Young Stanley, Explanation, Theresa, W. Prince, Petty Imagination, Honor Bright, Commandinte, Yound, Edith, and Belle CUilde. Young Stanley finished second, but was disqualified for starting before time. McArtney won easily, but a protest for inconsistent running has yet to be decided. Clifton Welter, six furlongs.—LinJa 1, Royal Shell 2, Methven 3. Also ran: Embrosure and Turet. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 20 2-ssec. Final Handicap, one mile.—Luresome 1, Office Girl 2, Jolly Friar 3. Also started: Rod Morn and Sonia. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 45see.
