MILK FEVER IN DAIRY COWS.

On the morning of the 13th she gave me a three-gallon bucket of milk, and looked tip top. At 3 o'clock that evening, coining home frqm the paddock I noticed ser body tckel up and her hindquarters stiff. X tried to milk her, but the milk was gone. As tue above were indications of milk fever, 1 gav# her a dose of Sykes's Drench, and remembering th.it oxygen pumped into the udder was a remedy, i got a bicycle pump and with the part that fits in the rubber tyre of the bike added, 1 pumpej the four quarters of the udder lull of air. We bad to support her in tile bail while doing this. When we leit her out she staggered a few yards and fell down. About twenty minutes ftt- : terwards, however, to my surprise she kwus on her feet again, and much better. By 9 o'clock that night sho was resting Next morning at 4.3U she was up and feeding. That I got 151bs of milk from her, is now back to her usual flow ajid as well as she ever was. had eignteen years' d.ury bare seen cows die, and in time, but in this quick recovery was simply am, etc., J.
