Per Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. Ideal weather conditions prevailed when the Otago-Wellington match was resumed to-day. The local team made a wonderful recovery, the last four wickets adding 241 runs. lilaeklock gave a masterly exposition of clean, vigorous hitting, registering 'lit) in 54 minutes. Eleven fourers were included in his score, seven of them beiiig from successive hits. Afalioney was batting 3 hours IS minutes for his 84 runs. Only one chance was debited against him, at 3.». Monaghan and Hales established a local record in representative matches, by putting on 84 for the last wicket. Monaghan, who had three sixers to his credit, was unbeaten with 47, while Hales was credited with 48. Torrencc was the most successful bowler for Otngo, capturing six for 7lt. He had no success with the ball to-day. Fisher's two wickets cost !)4 runs. In its second strike, Otago again gave an uninteresting exhibition, and the rate of run-getting was very tedious. Two wickets fell for no runs, but Austin and Siedberg, and later on Siedlierg and Eckhold, altered the complexion of affairs, and when stumps were drawn, the score ivad 115 for 4 wickets.
