POLITICAL LABOR LEAGUE CONFERENCE.
Per Press Association. , Cfiriatchurch, Saturday. At the political Labor League's conference a motion tp 'icriisert the word "independent/' struck oii£ of" the tiljij yesterday, was lost. The conference "carrieil Air Homing's motion that thg Gqfcnjinent s|tou)<] immediately extend the funption of State for the purpose of supplying the people with the necessaries of life, aritl that the first step In that direction should be to establish State farms and State Hour mills. It was resolved, "That ttaTWffifWWlfce~' affirms the principle of the right to obtain work, and that it should be the duty of those in authority to provide work for every citizen who applies for it." It was decided tlfat it lie an instruction to the executive to prepare a scheme whereby the principle' of the right to work be made nperat'vc.
The conference further resolved—"Tliat. this cbhfereince affirms to the conviction that the only way to regulate interests, profits, and rents, and insure the increased spending power of the worker, is by entrance into industry by tlic people themselves."
