TTellington, Last Njglit. The cricket match between the X>w South Wales and Wellington teachers ended in a tin for the visitors by five wickets. Wellington's second innings closed for 153, of which Monaghan made 29 and Beeehey 20. O'Neill captured six wickets for 82, Smith three for 40, and Roberts one for 11. This left the' visitors 239 to make to win, and they made these at a cost of five wickets Smith made 80, MeMulleu 04, Roberts' 33, Deer 20. I Wellington and Utago met this afternoon in a match which, so far, has been productive of some of the feeblest batting seen on the Basin Reserve for a long time. The visitors went in on a good wicket, and were disposed of for 113, of which Fisher made 34 by vigorous hitting. The rest failed, but Sicdeberg was wrongly given out l.b.w. at 21. when shaping for a good innings. Oiboroft took four wickets for 20. Wellington diJ even worse. Xo one could stand up to Torrance, the le.t-hand bowler, who clean bowled six r.en. only 23 so far lieing hit ofT him. His vorkers were especially deadly. Mahony, not out. 16, is the only batsman who has shaped respectably, the total being only 55 with four wickets to fall. The wicket was in capital order.
