THE HOLIDAYS
Per Press Association. I Napier, Last Xight. Christmas Day was the wettest we have had for two months, hut to-day has been hue and pelasantly cool, and the large number of townspeople ami visitors dispersed in various directions, picnic parties taking the bulk of them, though sports at Favndoit Park and races at I'ctane were both well attended.
Wellington, last Night. The weather was perfect for the holiday to-day, and large crowds were out picnicking at th- virioiM suburbs reached by ear, and a I Ibe harbor resorts. The terry steamers and tramcars were kept busy. So far no mishap has been reported.
Invercargill, Last Night. The weather for the holidays has been gloriously line, particularly Boxing Day. A small sports meeting and the .riivcrlon regatta were allended by town and eonulry people in great mimbcrs. and in consequence the railway Irallie was a record.
