Colonel Davies, Inspector of New Zealand forces, is expected to arrive in New Plymouth to-day or to-morrow. The llcv. Evans arrived back in New Plymouth liy last night's mail train, and were warmly welcomed by their friends. .Mr Morrison, manager <3f the Moturoa Freezing Work*, was injured in an accident on the Kclburue tramline, Wellington, oil Wednesday afternoon. Oi.e jf his feet was badly crushed by a car, md 1)1'. Holmes had to amputate three )f bis toes. The Wellington Harbor Board lias iccedcd to the request of the Victorian iovernment that Mr W. ' A cable message received yesterday norning at Ghvistchurch announced the ieath in Paris of Mr J. a Wilkin, inanging director of the LytteUou Times and a well-known figure in commerial and newspaper circles in Christhurch. Mr Wilkin was born in Lonlon in 1843, and arrived in Lytteltou n March 1851. He entered the office of lie Lyttelton Times in 1856, and sias teen associated with that journal evei ince. _
