The committee reserves the right to ask for additional evidence or to refuse the application if the evidence tendered appears to be insullicient. The fee payable for a license shall bo C2O per diem, payable upon the issue of the license. A person applying for a license for more than one day can secure the same upon payment of £2O, but the license shall bo totally inoperative for a second or third day until it in endorsed with a receipt by the secrotary for further payments of .€'2o each in respect to each such days. Each bookmaker shall bo entitled to have a clerk in attendance upon him at the racecourse upon payment of a fee of Co per diem. Xo person who has ever acted as a bookmaker shall be eligible to act as a clerk. Xo clerk shall act as a liookmaker or as the agent of a bookmaker in laying wagers, ealliug tinodds, or transacting the business of a bookmaker other than purely clerical ivork.

Xo holder of a bookmaker's license Khali cany on his calling as a bookmaker except upon that portion of the racecourse specially set apart for that purpose, and iu respect of which he is specially licensed; provided that such portion of the racecourse shall give facilities lor communication with both the public in the saddling paddock and the public in the outside enclosure.

Xo bookmaker shall be allowed upon the lawn or grandstand enclosures, and no bookmaker shall call the odds or transact any betting business outside the enclosures set apart for that purpose.

Xo bookmaker shall lay any wager in contravention of section i of the Gaming Act, 18'JL, and in particular no bookmaker shall lay totalisator odds. Any bookmaker, or the clerk of any bookmaker who shall be proved, to the satisfaction of the stewards, to have committed any breach of these conditions, or „1 the (laming and Lotteries Act, or to have been guilty of a corrupt practice withing the' meaning of the Rules of Racing, or to have committed any breach of the Rules of Racing, shall be liable to have his bookmaker's license cancelled; and in the event thereof he shall not be entitled to a refund of any portion of his license fee, and in addition thereto shall be liable to be expelled from the racecourse. Every bookmaker, anj the clerk of every liookmaker, shall wear a distinctive badge. Every bookmaker shall, whenever called upon so to do by any officer of the club, duly authorised by the committee, produce his bookmaker's license for inspection.
