The Land Board met at the Crown Lands Office on Tuesday. Present—The Commissioner of Crown Lands, Sir I l '. Simpson (in the chair), Messrs Heslop and Connett. Mr -Williams, Mr Fraser (representing another mortgagee) and the proposed transferee, also waited on the Board. Mr Fargie applied for exemption from personal residence on section 00, as lie : intended to reside on section 8. The Board will-recommend the nppli- ■ cation to the Minister's favorable con- • sideration, the transferee to take up his ' residence on the land within three
months from date. RANGERS' REPORTS. K Tolme, ranger, reported on the inspection of twenty-three holdings, comprising 1518 acres. Improvements required, £3048; effected, £3IOO. Six selectors resident. One had not effected aiilHcient improvements, and was non-re-sident, and 13 had not effected sufficient improvements. . j Barron, ranger, reported on the inspection of 38 holdings, comprising ' 31 500 acres. Improvements required, 1 £8330; effected, £15,717. Nineteen [ selectors resident, two had not complied ' with the conditions in that respect, and ' eleven had not effected sufficient mi-

Baverstock for an additional 20 or 30 acre,* adjoining the present holding, section 15, Mock 4, Minn The Board could see no present objcclioii lo the application being granted, but was unable to deal with it until a survey had been made. li. J. ilarrou, ranger, reported on improvements effected by Mrs. A. C. I'crgussoii on run 5, Opaku, and a letter was read from her on ilia subject Members of the Board will endeavor to make a personal inspection. IuRI'EITURIOS RH-CUN'SIDJORKD. Appeals against the forfeiture of their holdings were dealt with:— X. A. O'Brien, section 13, block 3, Ohura—Forfeiture rescinded, conditionally upon house and necessary improvements being completed within three months. J. J. Ansford, section 11, block 10, - Ohm a— Explanation unsatisfactory; forfeiture conlirmed. A. Hogg, section 8, block 12, Aria Explanation unsatisfactory; forfeiture conlirmed. T. K. Doyle, section 24, block 3, Oliura. —Explanation unsatisfactory; forfeiture confirmed; improvements to be valued and outgoing tenant's interest protected. AKIA DAIRY FACTOIU'. The price to be put on the Aria Dairy Factory site was considered, and it was decided to recommend the Minister for Lands lo dispose of the land for £IU per acre. LJENISRAL. Thomas Humphries applied for the lease uf section U, block 15, Aria, to issue—lie will be informed that the Board was unable to issue the lease until lie was ill bona tide residence on the land and complying with the regulations. 11. l'aul was granted a temporary lease of section 14, block 1, Aria, at iil per annum, terminable by three months' notice. J. Telfar was granted a renewal of hw lease of section 05, Urenui Township, for a term of three years, at a rental of 10a per annum, terminable by three -mouths' notj*e. which condilions to be complied with. The extension of lime allowed to il. Xclson wrote explaining why improvements were not ell'eeted on section U. block 5, Mahoe.—Section to he forfeited. 11. J. lllaiicluud, Jan., applied for extension of time to eil'ect improvements on section lU, block 5, Egiuonl.—Extension granted to next bushfelling season. 1!. Jioult stated that he would build on section IS, block 2, Ohura, after Christinas, and fell more hush next season—Action deferred, for a report from J. K Hastie applied for remission of rent on sections 21 and 22, block lli, | A'g'atimaru.—The Hoard was unable to make any recommendation. The applications of J. ltooney to sublet sections 25 and 20, block 1), Ngatinnini, tu A. A. Walkin, and A. E. Smith to sublet section 21, block 15, Wailara, to Henry Lambert, will be forwarded to the .Minister for his approval. . W. (I. Fargie applied to subdivide section H>s, block 1, Jlahoe, and transfer a portion to A. Agosteiieli.—Deferred for survey plan lo ho supplied.
Plans and schedules of sections in blocks 8, 12, and 10, Ohura, and 1, 2, and 3, Piupiotea West Survey District, surveyed by .Messrs. Sheet and Halsc, were laid on the table.
