The annual meeting of the subscribers to the Kaliotu Public Library took place on Wednesday evening. There was not a very large attendance, which seems a pity, as Kahotu has a first-class library, containing about 350 well-se-lected books, which should be greatly appreciated in a country district where the only opportunity one has of keeping abreast ol the times is by reading the latest books as they are published. Mr. J. T. Campbell presided. The report showed that £ll 18s 4d had been spent on books and magazines, over 40 books having been added during the past year, and three magazines, and that there was now a balance in hand of Hi Os Cd.
