A CliniSTllAS WINDOW. "lhe festive season" is a much-dis-cussed subject just now, and it is safe to say that every housewife is keenly interested in the topic. There are the cakes, puddings, mince pies, and such dainties to b6 made. All these require nice tasty ingredients. Mr. J. Whitakcr, of the Central Grocery Shop, has a smartly-dressed window which displays to adv'iiiil 'ge the fruits, etc., required iur the season. The design is effective, representing as it does a miniature plantation made up of currants, raisins, sultanas, peel, essences, nuts, spices, etc. At the back of the window is a prettily-modelled courtyard in which are seated Japanese and negro figures waiting to welcome customers in search of the many choice dainties with which they are surrounded.
