A British warship seized stores of coal and arms and the products ol' oxide mines belonging to a German firm, Moencklian's, on the island of Abumusa in the Persian Gulf, on the ground tliat they were contraband ware. German and English firms hold concession* from rival sheik?, who each claim authority over the Island. Some Berlin newspapers angrily attribute the action to British jealousy at the competition of the German shipping companies.
