MANAWATU RAILWAY PURCHASE.
Per Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. The directors of the Wellington and I liaiiawatu Railway Company met this morning to consider the (iovcrnnient's notice of intention to acquire the line. The meeting came to no decision, but the directors are prepared to assist the (iovennnent to come to a settlement in any way, consistent with their duty to the shareholders.
