SOLUTION OF ROADING PROBLEM
Per Press Association. Eltham, Last Night. A meeting of delegates of local bodies interested in the Eltham-Opunake tramway proposals was hold to-day, and the report was referred back to the bodies interested for discussion. The delegates from Opunake end expressed the opinion that while the town of Opunake would rate itself, the Egmont County as a whole was not in favor of the scheme. In the event of Egmont County refusing to join, it is probable the Eltham County Council will construct a line as far as Huroa-road and secure permission to carry the lino right on to Opunake over the Egmont County Council roads if circumstances warrant.
