GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE PROBABLE.

A deputation representative of the
whole of the. interests in the Lithgow , Ihtriet interviewed the Premier and naked the Government to use their efforts in evolving a scheme to prevent the doting of the ironworks. The deputation urged the importance of conserving a national industry, and the disaster threatening the district and a Urge body of workers.
The Premier (Mr. Wade) said he realised the serious effect upon the State the closing would hive. The Government was fully in sympathy with the deputation, bat it required time and anxious thought to see a way out. Mr. Wade aaid he hoped in a few days something would be evolved to save the in 'anstry and place it on a lasting footing.
