W.C.T.U.
As a result of good notices from pulpit and press, there was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the W.C.T.U., held iu the Baptist Churcn on Wednesday. The members were much encouraged, as the year's work was reviewed, each department showing that time and thought had lieen put into the carrying out of its plans. All of the officers of last year were re-elected, viz.: President, Mrs. Allan Douglas; corresponding secretary, Miss Ambury; recording secretary, Mrs. E. Chatterton; treasurer, Miss Sadler. The superintendents of departments for the coming } ear arc as follows:—Dorcas work, Mrs. lioon; maternity box, Mrs. Bulfioh ladies' room, Mrs. Brash; literature, Mrs. Douglas; cradle-roll, Mrs. F. Okcy; prison and rescue work, Miss Aliier; Parliamentary and legal work, Miss Douglas; ''White Ribbon" agent, .Miss Taunt. Votes of thanks were given to all who had worked in the Interest of the Union, and to Church trustees., Mr. S. B. White, Mr. Logie, and to the press for their help and courtesy. The committee of the rest room hope for a more lilieral support from the public, as returns during the past year have not met expenses.
