|Before his Honor, Mr District Judge Haselden). The New Plymouth session of the District Court opened yesterday morning before his Honor Judge Haselden. CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. Battle Harford v. Taranaki County Council, claim for 1500 damages in respect of a contract at Tapuaa. Mr Sutefan appeared Tor the plaintiff, and Jar Boy for defendant.
A jury of four was empanelled— Messrs A. Lealand, L. Ballot, L. Hammond, and T. M. Avery. . The Court was occupied from 10 a.m. minutes before midnight. The jury took two hours to consider their verdict, and returned a verdict for Site 17« damages. Costs were awarded acCording to scale.
