MISS ROBINSON CLOSELY CROSSEXAMINED. THE MYSTERY DEEPENS. Received 22nd 10.10 p.m. London, November 22. Miss Fobinson was closely cross-ex-amined regarding the dales she was associated with Charles Dickens. She stated she was much deceived i< Avory was correct. She did not think the Lion Hotel at Worksop, Yorkshire, where she stayed a few days with her mother was kept by a man named Pearcc. She went to lodgings kept by a Mrs Pearcc, a lone woman. Her mother took lodgings, and gave witness' name as Madame Tussaud Avory asked: "Where did you get tic girl of 17!" Miss Robinson replied: '•I am not like a little chicken.' Sinwas further questioned in a direction to test her local knowledge of Wefhcck. j Answering the final question, she admitted that £250 was cabled to her at Christchurch, New Zealand, last January to conic to England.
The hearng was adjourned till Wednesday if possible, otherwise till Friday.
