EXTERMINATING BUNNY.
PB. DANYSZ'S VIRUS ABORTIVE. , * Received 23rd, 0.22 a.in. , Sydney, November 22. Doctor Tidswe.ll, who as representative of the Federal Government, watched the Danysz virus for rabbits has presented hj» report. He finds that the efficiency of the virus as a destroyer Of rabbits has not been demonstrated, that although the microbe might be Bade to infect certain small animals there is no reason to apprehend danger from its practical use. He points out that similar, or at least indistinguishable virus has been known for years, •nd its natural behaviour on the mainhad was not sufficient to keep rabbits ia check. No results had come out of the experiments to indicate that the virus could be artificially manipulated .with greater efficiency. There nerd be BO apprehension of danger to human beings from its use, while the risk to Other animals was remote.
