" IHE DISSOULTIOX QUESTION. '» MOTION' OF PROTEST CARRIED. GOVERNOR DECLINES TO WITHDRAW. Received 23rd, 0.22 a.m. Brisbane, November 22. At a joint meeting of Kidstonite* and Laborites, all the members signed a memorial protesting against a dissolution being granted at the present juncture.
When the Assembly met to-day Mr Philp gave formal notice for granting supply prior to dissolution.
Mr Kidston moved an amendment that before the supply was granted a memorial' be presented to the Coventor protesting against the granting of the dissolution. Mr Kidston'* amendment was carried by 37 to 27.
The House adjourned to enable the petition to be granted to the Governor. When the House reassembled, the Speaker announced that the Governor had replied ueclming to withdraw the dissolution. The Governor thought it better that the country should express an opinion on the ritual ion. Mr Philp moved an adjournment of the Bouse. The debate is proceeding.
