ARBITRATION COURT
STRONG REMARKS FROM THE PRESIDENT. Per Press Association. Napier, Friday. Mr. Justice Sim made some strong remarks in the Arbitration Court on the manner in which the case for the wharf laborers was prepared. He told Mr. McLaren, of Wellington, who appeared for them, that the union had been of no assistance. It simply brought forward bare statements. It was simply playing with the Court to come before it with such evidence.
Later. At the Arbitration Court to-day the President intimated that the Court would take time to consider its deoision in the whnrf laborers' dispute. The evidence on behalf of the .employees was taken in connection with the timberworkers' dispute, but the union's representative announced that he would giro all his evidence at Palmerston North, and the further hearing of the dispute waii adjourned to that place. In connection with the butchers' dispute, the union railed two witnesses, and the employers' representatives were heard. The further hearing of the ease was adjourned to Palmerston North. The Court then rose, and will sit at Palmerston North on Tuesday.
