This morning the same man fell from a dray and was severely cut about the head. WARE A. A cricket match, Warea v. Okato, was prived oil Monday. The weather was not as g,k,d as it might have been, for a strong south-easter was blowing, but in spite of all a good number gathered together, and a good outing was the result. The local men only made nine runs for one innings. After the crushing victory, the Okato ladies provided afternoon tea for the visitors, which was very much enjoyed. The cricket match being held made a big difference to the attendance, although a fair number was present. The wind was blowing very strong all day, and was very much against the sliootists, but still very fair scores were put up for "newchums." A practice will be held next Saturday. As Mr and Mrs Clothier an<l other mem-lM-rs were spending a day at the seaside, and were l>oilii]g water for lunch, the child somehow caught the kettle and pulled the hot water over herself, and wa« badly scalded. She was brought home immediately, and it was thought the ease was a serious one, but the child is now on its way to recovery. The weather is still dry and very hot. The milk supply is still increasing at the factory, and the tests are good. There are now 19 boxes of butter made daily. The farmers are busy ploughing for turnips. Several cases of potato blight have been reported in this district. It seems now as if everything gets the Might. The annual social and meeting of the Horticultural Society will be held on Wednesday. It is expected that a very good show will be held here this year 18/11/07.
