J. Leahy; Minister for Education and Agriculture, Mr. W, Stephens; Minister of Justice! and Leader of the Council, Mr. F. J. Power; Minister without portfolio. Mr. W. V. Brown.

. • SHORT-LIVED MINISTRY. PHILP GOVERNMENT DEFEATED ON FIRST DIVISION. Received Nov. 19, 820 p.m. Brisbane, November 19. The Philp Ministry, whieV was only announced to-day, has teen defeated by n to 28. Received Nov. 2ft, 0.55 a.m. Brisbane, November 10. Mr. Philp, after announcing his Ministry, explained that he intended to ask the House to pass the Estimates and then close the session. If the House •was not prepared to go on with business It most take the consequent ft*. Mr. Kidston moved that the chairman leave the chair. He explained that, he had told the House he could not go on because of obstruction from the Council. That obstruction would have to l>e dealt with. He declared attempts were made to bribe members of his side to Support the Government, but they failed. He added that members had been threatened for standing to their duty. Mr. Philp explained that he had not attempted to get Mr. Kidston's supporters to join him till Mr. Kidston reigned. Mr. Kidston'* motion was then eartfed, as cabled, and the House adjourned.
