NEW PLYMOUTH WOOL, HIDE, SHEEPSKIN, AND TALLOW SALE. MESSRS. L. A. NOLAN AND CO.'S REPORT. We held our monthly sale on 14th November, and had au entry slightly under the average. Most lines were in good condition, and all cleared under the hammer. Hides—Butchers' hides generally receded about %d in goodconditioned lots, this applying more particularly to lights; settlers' and damaged lines receded fully y s d per lb. Wool—Very little offered. Sheepskins.. Market weaker; showed a decline of fully Id per lb all round. Tallow..Small catalogue, which sold at last month's rates. We quote:—
Hides.—Butchers', cow, light to 4</ B d, medium 4>/ B <l to 4>/ 2 d, heavy i'M to 4%d, OX, light 4%d to 4%d, medium 5%d to 5%d, stout 6'/od; settlers', to 4'/ B d, according to condition. Calf- .. skins, best 6%d, medium 5%d, inferior 4d to 4%d, cut and slippy 4d to 4'/ B d, heavy 3'/ 8 d to 4y B d. Wool—Fleece dead Cd. Horsehair, lOd to Is 4d. Tallow.—Casks 25s 3d, tins 225. Sheepskins—Salted 4s to 6s, dry 5s 9d to 7s Id, part damaged 4s 6d to 5s 9d, settlers' Is Gd to 5s 3d, lambs' small Is, pelts Is. Bones, £4 10s. Horns, (is per 100. ( Tails, Is 4'/ 2 d per dozen. United Kingdom for the week ending the iltli instant amounted to 01,000 cwt, as compared with (I7,ooocwt for the corresponding week of 1900. Frozen Meat—Market firm, and any change in prices is in favor of sellers. Tallow—Since our last telegram mutton tallow in general is lower by Is; other descriptions arc lower by 0d to Oil. We quote prime mutton tallow 34s 9d. Expect no improvement whilst financial crisis lasts. Kabbitskins. Expect a decline in prices at next sales, owing to anticipated absence of American support.
