I'IiIDAY, NOVKUMiII 13. j, LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Per Press Association Wellington, Last Night. In the Council, v hk'U met at 2.30, the Factories Act Amendment Bill was reported with amendments and passed. The following Bills were read a second 0 lime: Fisheries Conservation, Public Health Amendment, Post and Telegraph Classification, Otago Presbyterian Church I'roperty, Parliamentary Title and Executive ]iill. Tlic Council adjourned at 5 till 8 p.m. The Council resumed at 8 p.m. T'lie Public Service Classification Bill was read a second time. The following Bills passed their final stages without material alteration:— Fisheries Conservation Act Amendment, Post and Telegraph Classification, Otago Presbyterian Church Property, Parliamentary and Executive Titles, Taieri T.and Drainage, Canterbury College Endowment, Education Act' Amendment, lieer Duty, Public Trust Office Act Amendment Bill. Several Bills passed by the House to-day were received and' read a first lime, and the Council rose at !>.15 p.m. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES In the House, the Packet Licenses Bill was read a first time. The Maori Land "washing-up" Bill was brought down by Governor's message and read a first time, and referred lo the Native Affairs Committee. The House resumed at 7.30 p.m. Tiie Chinese Immigrants Amendment Bill, Co-operative Dairy Companies Bill, Divorces and Matrimonial Causes Act Amendment Bill, and Kangitatau Block Exchange Bill were read a third time. The amendments made by the Council to the Land Laws Amendment Bill and the Canterbury College Endowment Bill were agreed to. The House then went into Committee of Supply on the Public Works Estimates.
