The Garrison Band annua] musical examinations wore held last night. ' Professor JiutchiiiSj of Jlawera, acted as judge, and at the conclusion of tin- playing commended the members on the improvement on last year's form. The j following were placed first and second in I the various grades:— 1 Kirst Crade.— Corporal Allen, B-flat bass ("Nt'linsucht"), lltf points, 1; Bandsman Cudby, euphonium ("Singingliinl"), 115 points, 2. Second Crade.—Bandsman E. Steel, Mat bass ("Will Ye no Come Back . Case. tenor horn ("0 Lovely Night"), 114 points, 2. ; I bird (trade.—Bandsman B. Brookes, . trpuibonc C'Tlic Death of Xclson"), 107 paints, t j Bailsman 0. Pcarce, tlugel- ■ Mm ("Zenobia"), 06 points, 2.
