Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Amended regulations gazetted to-night provide that not more than three persons in one family shall be eligible for appointment to the Post and Telegraph Department. Females between the ages of 10 and 25 years are eligible as cadettes m the non-clerical division, and women up to 40 years may be if'they have previously served a. period ol' two yearo. Not more than one daughter in a family is to be eligible for appointment us a telephone exchange cadette. Married women are not eligible, and females must resign when they marry.
Friday, 20th November, is fixed as the date for payment of Land-tax.
The appointment is gazetted 0! Andrew McKenzic as Inspector of Machinery and Surveyor qf Ship*. The proposals of candidates for the Nobe! Peace Prize of 1008 must reach the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament by Ist February.
