ANNUAL meeting. The annual meeting of the New IMyinouth Caledonian Society was held Se Town Hall last night, when theW was a fair attendance, Mr A. Mcllaidj, mesident, presiding. ANNUAL REPOIVI. The annual report congratulated the society on having firmly e9ta^ hcd fl 1 1 self having 107 members. the f lst annual sports resulted in financial loss, but the reserve from members and offl cers' donations were ample to meet a obligations, and leave a balance of £ to carry forward. The directors reported having accepted the offer of the ' New Zealand Athletic Union to conduct the championship running events at the Society's annual sports meeting on ' 20th February next (Band Contest ! 'week), which date the Society has been extremely fortunate in securing. The report concluded: "The running of the f New Zealand championship meeting will 1 entail a greater responsibility and ; t heavier liability on the Society than 1 existed in the inaugural year, but with 1 the largely increased membership hoped for and the active co-operation of the members, your directors are confident the Society has nothing to fear, and should very soon occupy the position its location entitles it to —that of the premier athletic society in the province, and one of the leading societies under !i tho New Zealand Athletic Union,'' 3 Tho balance-sheet showed the receipts' *• to have totalled £ll7 14s lOd, contri- '• buted to by members £22 15s, dona--8 tions £4 8s 6d, nominations and acv ceptances £1!) 3s 6d, programmes £l3 '■ 8s "2d, licenses, etc., £2 15s, gate res ceipts £54 15s 2d. Secretary—J. McLeod (re-elected); assistant secretary—J. Elliott; treasurer—J. Clarke; auditor—Air H. Stocker. A/number of new members was elected. The Bum of five guineas, secretarial expenses, was voted.
