BOWLING.
The New Plymouth Bowling Qhib opened its season on Monday afternoon. There was a good attendance of members and friends, the ladies being in I strong force. The gresn was a little heavy as the result of the ruins of that I and the previous morning, and the high I wind was also a discordant element. [ Nevertheless, the afternoon passed off pleasantly, the annual match between teams selected by the president and vice-president providing a close contest. The green was formally opened by the president, and Mrs. Cock threw the first jack. Mr. James' orchestra provided Hrmo most acceptable music, aijd Mr. Thompson had charge of tlie catering atrangements. The following are details of the play;—
