TURF TOPICS. (By "Moturoa.") Asteroid was ''hot stuff" in the Spring Hurdles, but struck the first two fences very hard and finished last. Dawn's record: Four starts, four firsts.
Ivanoir, who ran away witli, the Riecarton Welter, is a four-year-old colt by Stcpniak, from that great little mare, Arline. He ia owned by Murray Hobba, and won the Grandstand Handicap, one mile, at Asldmrton last May in the good time of lmin 41 l-ssec. Frisco's C'uu will go down amongst the list of surprises. His stable-mate, Apa, was coupled with every likely one in the Stewards' Handicap, ana bis defeat came as a great blow to straight-out bettors. Frisco and Ap.i were coupled on the tote, which accounts for the smallness of the dividend. Olenculloch and Red Rain will be coupled in the Derby to-day. Eous, who was "Moturoa's" tip, paid a surprisingly large div. in the Shorts. "Moturoa's" anticipations were worth following on Saturday. Five firsts and two seconds was the record.
