Harding, having ollcred a short prayer, called upon His Worship the Mayor to ollicially open the bazaar. Mr. UocKi'ill said the function had the laudable aim of reducing the debt on some church properties, He referred to the iho aiciiiU'clural design of the new church recently erected, and congratuI lalcd the congregation upon the possesion ol such a building. The ladies laid determined to make the church properties free of debt, and even a cursory glance at the stalls at the bazaar would give some indication of the energy and labor expended by them, lie wished tliem the fullest attainment of their hopes, and declared the bazaar to be opened for business. Upon the motion i oi the Rev. Armstrong and Mr. C. E. i I'ellisnger, a vote of thanks was accorded j Ins Worship. 'The .attendance was not very large in the afternoon, but most !" L ' v ' s itors seemed to be on business bent, and all the stalls were kept fairly the refreshment, afternoon tea, lollie and ice-cream stalls. The various stalls are prettily arranged, and are well stocked with easily saleable goods. All ' the stalls are brightly illuminated bv [ electricity. The stalls and stallholders arc as follows:—Fancy stall, Mcsdames • and Petty, Misses Rassett and Lellnngcr; linen stall, .Mrs. Andrews ami .diss Ronyon; refreshments, afternoon tea, mid supper, Mesdame.s Moon, Ijepmc, and ,1. White, Misses F. White, M. kcpnie, and Gladys Moon; oil paintings, books, and fancy work, Mrs. Harding, Misses Ward and ISrokenshire; pot I l ' l #'Ml ferns, Misses Foole and Arm•strong: icecream, .summer drinks, etc., . '' >"dio]ls; bachelors' stall, the Rev. Armstrong; toys, Mrs. Tunbridge and Miss Flossie Petty. Noticeable goods aie some splendid crvstoleum and oil paintings and a pretty bride doll, whose age is the subject of a guessing compc- ■ Jtioii.
