A double fatality was narrowly averted near the terminus of the Jlorumgton cable car early this evening A woman named Mrs. Hill, with an infant w her arms, crossed in front of a Bar and was knocked down and dragged six 01 seven yards. The ear was brought to a standstill, when it was found th.it tlie woman was completely under l,h» body of the car, only her hands being visible, llie woman was extricated with some difficulty Both she and the child d a most fortunate escape. The child received a bad cut on the forehead, and the woman seveval abrasions on the lead, face, and limbs, and was suffering co siderably from shock.
